Following a second-season renewal from Netflix earlier this month, Spin Master has signed a bunch of deals with licensees in new product categories for its CG-animated fantasy series Unicorn Academy.
Kicking off next spring, Panini will roll out collectible trading cards to retailers worldwide, craftco Make it Real is developing an arts & crafts range (North America, Australia, New Zealand and Nordic territories), and publishing partners Penguin Random House, Story House Egmont, Redan and Lake Press are on board to create Unicorn Academy magazines and activity books. Then in the fall, Ravensburger will release new board games for the European market, while VTech launches a range of kids electronics in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Spin Master has also appointed several new international licensing agents to drive more licensing business for the brand in their respective territories. They include Planeta and Gulli (France); Mediogen (Israel); and Redibra, Tycoon and Mon (Mexico and Latin America). And WildBrain CPLG will now manage CEE, the Middle East and Asia, in addition to the Nordics, Italy, Benelux and Iberia.
Unicorn Academy‘s second season (16 x 22 minutes) is expected to drop on Netflix next year. The series is based on a 20-volume book series by English author Julie Sykes and originally launched in 2023.
