  • Hunger Games and Twilight franchise owner Lionsgate has inked a “first-of-its-kind” agreement with New York-based AI company Runway. The deal will see Runway develop and train an AI model on the studios’s library of film and TV content. The tech will be used exclusively by Lionsgate Studios and its talent to augment their work.

  • Spin Master’s CG-animated fantasy series Unicorn Academy (pictured) is expanding its global footprint with season-one sales to Super RTL (Germany), CBC Kids (Canada), Gulli (France), WBD-owned Frisbee/K2 (Italy) and China’s Mango TV, Tencent, Youku and iQiYi. The show, which targets ages five to eight, scored a renewal from Netflix earlier this month, and its second season is on track to premiere next year.

  • WildBrain has beefed up its licensee roster for Teletubbies, partnering with Colley for Korean pop-up stores and a range of licensed products that are due out at the end of this month. Chinese toyco Alpha will also roll out Teletubbies badges in blind boxes later this fall. And for Strawberry Shortcake, WildBrain has inked new deals for housewares/accessories (MINISO), phone cases (Skinnydip) and apparel (Cakeworthy).
