- 9 Story Distribution has sold Dylan’s Playtime Adventures to international broadcasters including SVT (Sweden), DRTV (Denmark), YLE (Finland), RTÉ (Ireland), Hop! (Israel), EBS (South Korea), MediaCorp (Singapore) and ETV (South Africa). Based on the Scholastic picture books by Guy Parker-Rees, this 52 x 11-minute preschool toon about a colorful canine premiered on Canada’s CBC Kids and CBeebies UK earlier this year.
- Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) has finalized a deal to sell Magnolia Network’s programming catalogue globally. Magnolia, a joint-venture between WBD and TV personalities Chip and Joanna Gaines, is behind unscripted family-friendly shows like Roller Jam, Human vs. Hamster and Second Chance Stage—which WBITVP will shop around Cannes at MIPCOM next month.
- Tonies has inked its first deal with Blue Zoo to license the Numberblocks and Alphablocks characters for its flagship Toniebox audio system. Two Clever Pocket collections with four stackable blocks each will launch later this year. When stacked on top of the Toniebox, the blocks will teach kids about subjects such as vehicles, animal friends, rhyming and bedtime routines. Tonies has also brought Rachel Riley, the mathematician co-host of British puzzle show Countdown and its spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, into its ecosystem. Rachel Riley’s Maths Magic Clever Pocket Tonie is designed for kids ages five to seven and was created with the UK’s national math curriculum in mind.
- Hasbro’s board game partner Winning Moves has secured three new licenses to leverage in its classic tabletop games. Sonic the Hedgehog and Hello Kitty editions of Monopoly will roll out worldwide next month, along with a Stranger Things version of Risk that features a custom map and new mechanics to let players team up and stop Vecna from reaching the Creel house.
