Passion Paris (the French sister company of UK-based Passion Pictures) has set up animation industry veteran Caroline Audebert as managing director to help increase the studio’s production capacity and diversify its content pipeline.
After a brief transition period, she will take over from Marc Bodin-Joyeux, who is leaving the company after serving as MD since its launch nearly 20 years ago.
Audebert previously worked at Ellipse Animation, where she served as managing director for nearly four years, spearheading the company’s move into webtoons and managing a slate of projects including Living with Dad and Kid Lucky. Prior to that, she was a deputy studios director at Cyber Group Studios, and held various production management positions at Superprod, Gaumont and Disney France.
In her new role, Audebert will also supervise the opening of a creative studio in the Quai de Jemmapes area of Paris that will handle Passion’s growing pipeline of 2D, CG and stop-motion shorts and series.
Recent Passion projects include Moonlit Bamboo Forest, an animated short from animator/director David Pagaille about a young boy who ventures into an ancient forest filled with spirits and monsters from childhood tales; Apocalypse Mojito, a 2023 Cartoon Forum series for young adults; and Please, a new short from Emmy-winning Swedish animation director and filmmaker Anna Mantzaris (Fuzzy Feelings). The studio is also in production on season four of LEGO Friends.
