Diane Rankin’s remit at Blue Ant expands to include content development, and Craig Duncan will succeed a Microsoft veteran as head of Xbox Game Studios
October 16, 2024

  • Blue Ant Studios has upped Diane Rankin (pictured) to EVP of content development and commercial strategy—a move that puts the development and marketing teams under her leadership. Rankin will now oversee development strategy, financing and marketing for all original content. She’ll still be based in London, reporting directly to co-presidents Matt Hornburg and Mark Bishop. Rankin joined Blue Ant last year as head of commercial strategy and content financing when it acquired marblemedia/D360.

  • Xbox Game Studios (XGS) head Alan Hartman will retire by the end of November, marking the end of a three-decade career at Microsoft. The company is promoting Craig Duncan to replace him, with a focus on reaching more players by building new IPs and game experiences. Duncan has spent the past 14 years working as a studio head at Rare, an XGS-owned British video game developer.
