- Looking to deliver a collaborative “retail-tainment” experience, the first Build-A-Bear x Hello Kitty and Friends Workshop will open its doors on November 15 at Westfield Century City in LA. The location will offer Build-A-Bear’s custom plush-making process for Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll, along with exclusive holiday designs and special pink birth certificates for the toys.
- Rovio and Outfit7 are staging a crossover event throughout November for Angry Birds and Talking Tom, both of which turned 15 this year. In a gamified swing at co-branding, the partnership will see a Talking Tom power-up featured in Rovio’s mobile game, plus a whack-a-piggy challenge offered in the My Talking Tom 2 app. Crossover content is also rolling out on the YouTube channels for Angry Birds (seven million subs) and Talking Tom (32 million subs), with a first ep out today and a second one launching on November 15.
- StudioCanal Kids & Family has inked a deal with Coral Eyewear in the UK to produce Paddington-branded glasses and sunglasses for kids ages four to 10. The collection will feature paw prints and cases in the color scheme of the bear’s signature blue duffle coat and red hat. The franchise’s third feature film, Paddington in Peru, is hitting big screens in the UK today, with a US release scheduled for January 17, 2025.
