- BBC Children’s and Education has acquired broadcasting rights to Miraculous Corp’s flagship kids series Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (pictured). The sale brokered by Mediawan Kids & Family includes all six seasons of the CG-animated series (156 x 22 minutes), as well as five Miraculous World specials. Season five will begin airing on CBBC later this week.
- Sinking Ship Entertainment has signed several new broadcasting deals for kids shows in its portfolio. Live-action mystery series Wordsville is heading to ABC Australia; Kenya’s Akili TV! has acquired Beyond Black Beauty; beIN MEDIA picks up Odd Squad and Dino Dana; and Duo Media Networks has bought a bundle featuring Ghostwriter, Phoenix Rise and Dino Dana for Middle East viewers.
- APC Kids sells TeamTO’s martial arts action-comedy Jade Armor (26 x 26 minutes) to PCCW (Hong Kong), MTVA (Hungary), Bell Media (Canada) and Mediacorp (Singapore). A second season of this CG-animated series forĀ six- to 10-year-olds is currently in the works and due out sometime in 2025.
- Tencent has reportedly acquired more shares in Kuro Games from Hero Hub, and is now the the only external shareholder in the Chinese developer behind teen-skewing titles such as Punishing: Gray Raven and Wuthering Waves, with a 51.4% majority stake.
