- Crunchyroll has picked up several new teen anime series to stream on its platform next year. Joining the lineup are: Farmagia (pictured), an adaptation of a same-name fantasy-adventure video game from Bridge; MAPPA’s original romantic comedy ZENSHU; and the third and final season of Fire Force from David Production.
- CandyRific has teamed up with DreamWorks Animation to produce a new range of novelty candy products inspired by Gabby’s Dollhouse. Featuring miniature backpacks, keyrings, bracelets and fans that come bundled with an assortment of hard candies, the range will hit retail shelves before Easter.
- SEGA has inked a new brand crossover deal with Hasbro, which will make and distribute two Sonic the Hedgehog Transformers toys next year. Sonic transforms into his Speed Star car from the Sonic Racing video games, and Tails shifts into his Tornado plane from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992).
- Latido Films has locked down international distribution rights to 2D-animated comedy-adventure feature Small Town (Pueblo Chico), which is directed by veteran animation director Walter Tournier. This co-production involving LatAm animation studios Coala Filmes, La Suma, Cup Filmes, Tornasol Filmes and Abano Produccións is about a group of kids who save their little town from an evil investor.
