UK licensing gurus Rob Goodchild and Laura Daniel have launched a new licensing agency called Planet Rights to serve kids brand owners around the world.
Planet Rights specializes in developing and executing licensing programs across entertainment, publishing, toys and entertainment brands.
The agency will make its industry debut at Brand Licensing Europe next month in London, where it will showcase several initial animated brands—including Moley, Talking Tom & Friends, Astro Boy and The Land of Sometimes—to potential licensees.
Goodchild is Planet Rights’ managing director, while Daniel has taken the role of licensing manager. The duo plan to leverage their experience developing licensing and merchandising programs at Aardman Animations and Two Daughters Entertainment to unlock new partnerships for clients and help them navigate the market.
Two Daughters Entertainment, Goodchild and Daniel helped secure several licensing deals for the studio’s tentpole preschool franchise Moley, including signing apparel collections with Teemill, a travel and hospitality partnership with The Mole Resort and branded educational activities with the Foundation for Environmental Education.
