Sesame Workshop has launched two new games on Roblox to build fanbase interest in Sesame Street’s refreshed new season, using the platform to introduce new characters and share an early look at a fresh show segment.
The nonprofit company teamed up with Exclusible and Shovel Team to develop Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures (pictured), which launched yesterday. Users can explore the titular street, talk to other characters and play minigames (like catching cookie ingredients for Cookie Monster). Beyond giving kids another way to interact with the brand, Sesame Workshop is treating the game as a hub for its other Sesame Street titles, creating portals that go to them instantly.
Sesame is also using Neighborhood Adventures as a stage for giving kids a first look at a brand-new “Tales from 123” animation segment that will be introduced in Sesame Street‘s new season that’s launching November 10 on Netflix and PBS KIDS. Starting two days before that, the game will host a 24-hour screening of the new 2D-animated segment, which takes viewers inside the apartment building that Elmo, Cookie Monster and their friends share and shows off their homes.

Kidscreen‘s senior reporter Ryan Tuchow is exploring Neighborhood Adventures. Next to his avatar is Oscar the Grouch, who players can talk to and get stickers from.
Sesame also made Magical Beastie Quest, which it’s using to introduce new characters who will appear in the latest season. In this educational game, players help Elmo and friends unlock, level up and teach small creatures called Beasties through minigames. New York-based MindTrust is the developer.
Sesame Street Mecha Builders: The Game has racked up more than 70 million visits on Roblox since launching there in 2022. And Roblox has certainly noticed this success—Mecha Builders was one of the first games it added to a new Learning Hub that rolled out this summer. Head of education Rebecca Kantar saluted Sesame in a release from both companies about the new games. “The Sesame Workshop team understands the great power of meeting learners where they are—not just by showing up on Roblox, but by bringing to life a living, explorable hub and leading players into worlds and narratives that can motivate and reinforce learning,” she said.
The Sesame Workshop team has been busy leading up to the new season’s debut on Netflix. It recently signed a deal to put more than 20 hours of Sesame Street on Kidoodle.TV, as well as partnering with YouTube, which will host hundreds of episodes from the long-running series. And as the brand expands into more digital spaces, Sesame teamed up with Google just last week to launch a hub of videos, activities and resources that teach kids about forming healthy digital habits.
