- Hasbro has partnered with The Pinkfong Company in the first collaboration between Peppa Pig and Baby Shark. The crossover will see the two preschool icons come together for an animated music video and a new mash-up track of the Baby Shark theme song that will roll out on YouTube and other social platforms on December 26.
- Madgic Distribution secured the first sales for Kelebek Media’s new 2D-animated mermaid comedy series Emerald (18 x 11 minutes) at MIPJunior last week. The series’ first batch of major broadcasters includes Knowledge Canada, Mediacorp Singapore and Noga Israel, which will air the toon next year.
- Chinese toyco Blokees has named Incredible Group as the exclusive distributor of its model kits and action figures in Canada, including licensed SKUs for Transformers, Star Wars, Minions, Ultraman and Sesame Street. Other brands in Incredible’s distribution portfolio include the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Melissa & Doug wooden toys and CoComelon plush.
- Banijay Kids & Family has secured more sales for its 2D-animated Once Upon a Time… series. The new broadcast partners for season eight include Puls Kids (Poland), Minika GO (Turkey), TFO (Canada) and Radio Television Hong Kong. Meanwhile, AMC Networks International has picked up seasons three and seven for Eastern Europe, and SF Studios has acquired the third season for Norway and Sweden.
- Konami Cross Media NY has appointed Glam as the licensing agent for Yu-Gi-Oh! consumer products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. And the agency has already inked its first deal for the IP with Belgium-based apparel manufacturer Van der Erve, which will roll out a new Yu-Gi-Oh! branded apparel collection for both kids and adults next year.
- Europe’s K-Pop Odyssey producer Pig & Horse Productions has inked a new deal with Time Out to co-develop a new slate of unscripted formats for global distribution. Two family-friendly formats that are in development include a chef challenge that pits two rising cooks against each other in various food markets around the globe, and a street music talent show performed live for a London crowd, with winners playing in a nighttime showcase event with surprise guest stars.
