PEOPLE: Nabil Kazi joins Watermelon Pictures as an EVP

Plus, Erik Feig will lead the newly launched Arena SNK Studios as CEO, and Women in Toys has appointed two new board members.

  • Former Disney and Illumination Entertainment exec Nabil Kazi has landed at Chicago-based Watermelon Pictures as EVP of marketing and brand development. After working for Watermelon as a consultant for some time, Kazi will now oversee the development of all original projects and global marketing campaigns. He has worked on several iconic kids franchises during his career, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Despicable Me, The Simpsons and Toy Story. 

 

  • Newly launched Arena SNK Studios has appointed ex-Lionsgate exec Erik Feig as its first CEO. Feig will focus initially on developing new films and TV shows based on the Saudi-backed studios’ portfolio of gaming and anime IPs, which include the iconic arcade titles King of Fighters, Fatal Fury and Metal Slug

 

  • Non-profit organization Women in Toys has named KidStuff Public Relations president Lisa Orman and Lourdes Arocho (Paramount SVP of licensing, consumer products & experiences) as new board members. They will both serve three-year terms to strengthen the organization’s global network and create more opportunities for women across the consumer products, entertainment and licensing industries.
