  • Starting in September, Sweden’s public broadcaster SVT has been consolidating, and has condensed its five programming areas into three: Fiction & Children, Culture & Entertainment and Society. As part of that consolidation, SVT has named Petter Bragée (pictured), its program manager for children & young people, as program area manager for fiction & children. Bragée has been with SVT for more than 30 years, and in his new role he’ll oversee all children’s programming as well as drama. SVT carries original and licensed animated and live-action children’s programming that ranges from preschool to teens. It’s also the most-viewed platform among Swedish kids aged three to 11, beating all competitors, including YouTube, Netflix and Disney, according to July data from measurement company MMS.

  • Former Hasbro and Lucasfilm licensing exec Casey Collins has joined the NFL as SVP and head of consumer products to drive the league’s multi-billion-dollar licensing biz. He’s based in New York and reports to Renie Anderson, the NFL’s EVP and chief revenue officer. A well-known name in the licensing business, Collins’s career spans exec stints at MGA Entertainment, the WWE and Relatable (previously, What Do You Meme?). Collins is joining the league amid a broader push to get kids engaged with football. It’s an effort that has taken many forms, including multiple telecasts geared toward kids. Hasbro and the NFL teamed up last month to manufacture and distribute new editions of Guess Who? and Monopoly that feature players from all 32 teams.
