- Universal Products & Experiences is casting a spell with Spin Master-owned game studio Toca Boca, which will feature Wicked: For Good in the Toca Boca World app (pictured) following the film’s November 21 theatrical release. Starting four days later, the game will offer players outfits and hairstyles, soundtrack songs and free digital items from the film (like a witch’s broom). This branded content will roll out in phases in November and December. Toca Boca World has roughly 60 million players.
- Emirates Airlines has picked up the rights to add Chinese studio WinSing Animation’s animated film Into the Mortal World to its in-flight entertainment library in December. The CG-animated movie for kids is about two brothers with opposing superpowers who embark on a quest to save the world. WinSing has been making the festival circuit rounds with Into the Mortal World this year, including stops at Annecy and the Cannes Film Festival. The film will be available on all Emirates routes and aircraft (roughly 250 planes).
- Master toy partner PMI Kids World has rolled out its first line of products for Sony Pictures Television – Kids series The Creature Cases. Available now on Amazon, the line includes plush, action figures and playsets. Sony’s CG-animated series about a team of animal detectives who solve mysteries has five seasons available on Netflix.
