The Children’s & Family Emmys are spotlighting YouTube creators in its latest list of nominees, which includes Ms. Rachel for the first time. 

Ms. Rachel (whose real name is Rachel Griffin-Accurso, pictured) scored nominations in the Outstanding Preschool, Children’s or Family Viewing Series category for her YouTube channel (17.8 million subscribers), and was also shortlisted for Outstanding Writing for a Preschool or Children’s Series with her Potty Training with Ms. Rachel video (96 million views). 

In both categories, she’s up against fellow YouTube channel Tab Time (134,000 subscribers),  which serves up an educational series that teaches young kids about tough topics like emotional regulation and even death in a gentle way. Its third nomination this year is in the Outstanding Children’s Personality field. The host of Tab Time, Tabitha Brown, won an Emmy in 2023 for Outstanding Host.

These notable creator nods aside, the market’s major streamers dominated this year’s Emmy nominations, with Disney+, Netflix and Apple TV+ set to duke it out in multiple categories. But interestingly, in the Outstanding Preschool Animated Series category, all of the shortlisted entries are PBS KIDS shows (with one exception for Nickelodeon’s The Tiny Chef Show). 

This is the fourth year for the Children’s & Family Emmys, and this year’s winners will be announced on March 1 and 2 at two awards ceremonies in New York.
