Eric Calderon joins Lion Forge Entertainment for an anime push
The veteran producer and former EVP of Falcon’s Beyond (pictured) is tasked with assisting the studio in developing and creating new anime and anime-adjacent projects as a consultant. Calderon has built up years of anime-relevant experience, including co-producing Afro Samurai with SpikeTV, consulting with Toei Animation and Imagi Studios, and producing the 65-minute animated feature Baton with Tsuburaya Productions.
MAGNA-TILES hires its first VP of sales
The Illinois-based toyco has tapped former Alex Toys and Philips sales exec Heather Fanning to oversee all sales initiatives across the US. In the newly created role, she will focus initially on expanding the company’s range of construction toys to new markets and schools while also bolstering its retail network.
Play Social taps LEGOLAND alum as new CEO
Phil Royle will leverage his more than 25 years experience working in the location-based entertainment industry to grow the company’s flagship Play Playground arcades. Play Social currently operates two locations in Las Vegas and Nashville, which feature bounce houses, ring runs and digital games for tweens and teens. Former CEO and co-founder Jennifer Worthington will transition to a member on Play Social’s board of directors.
