TG4 promotes to fill a key content role
Ireland’s public broadcaster has upped Laura Ní Cheallaigh (pictured) from commissioning and acquisitions editor to director of content. Advertised in October, this newly created role runs on a seven-year contract and comes with a remit to shape content strategy across all platforms. Ní Cheallaigh has been at TG4 since 2015, with credits for bringing in Junior Eurovision and Naíonra. This appointment closely follows the channel’s announcement of an US$11-million fund for Irish-language content.
