Disney+ to debut music videos in American Sign Language
The Mouse House has teamed up with the Deaf West Theatre to reimagine three of its most popular movie soundtrack titles—”The Next Right Thing” (Frozen 2), “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (Encanto) and “Beyond” (Moana 2)—into animated ASL music sequences. They’ll comprise a Songs in Sign Language special (pictured) that’s launching April 27 on Disney’s streamer, packaged with a behind-the-scenes feature showing how the partners worked with more than 20 animators to reanimate the songs.
Hasbro expands its Canadian network
The toyco has partnered up with trading card and collectibles supplier Grosnor Distribution to widen its Canadian sales channel. Following the collapse of Everest Toys last year, Grosnor will help facilitate the distribution of Beyblade, Transformers, Monopoly, NERF and Play-Doh products nationwide. Grosnor also does business with Basic Fun!, Yolopark, Upper Deck, The Pokémon Company International and Konami.
IDW cooks up a new crossover
Toho’s King of the Monsters has already gone up against the Power Rangers, Marvel and DC, but now Godzilla will face off against SEGA mascot Sonic the Hedgehog in a new five-issue co-branded comic series. IDW plans to publish the first issue of Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla this summer, introducing a storyline about Sonic and his friends trying to stop Dr. Eggman from controlling Godzilla and other massive kaiju from Toho’s portfolio.
Talking Tom secures two new licensees
Outfit 7’s UK licensing agent Planet Rights has added Blues Group and Teddy Mountain to a growing consumer products program for Talking Tom Heroes: Suddenly Super. Blues will produce a collection of branded children’s daywear and nightwear for late 2026, followed by Teddy Mountain’s make-your-own plush range inspired by the series’ cast of four heroes.
