Disguise renews its global Minecraft license

Jakks Pacific’s costume division will continue to manufacture dress-up and role-play products for the popular gaming franchise, thanks to a multi-year global license renewal. Minecraft is one of the top-performing IPs in Disguise’s licensing portfolio, and it did especially well after A Minecraft Movie was released in April 2025. Disguise is hoping for another market surge when the sequel that’s in development at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures comes out in 2027.

Cloudco has a new global publishing partner

The house of Care Bears has signed a few new publishing deals for its flagship brand, bringing in HarperCollins as a global English-language publisher (except in Australia/New Zealand). The company plans to launch its first Care Bears titles, including a coloring book, later this year in the US and the UK. HarperPop will also release History of the Care Bears in the US next year to celebrate the brand’s 45th anniversary. Search Press (another new publishing licensee for Care Bears) and Hachette Book Group are gearing up to launch their own book anniversary ranges in 2027 and June 2026, respectively.

Lydia and the Mist Rider flies onto Roblox

Epic Storyworld (the Roblox-focused division of Epic Story Media) is running a brand integration for 10th Ave Productions’ new film Lydia and the Mist Rider in its Fracterra role-playing game. The CG-animated family feature premiered on February 20 and is now playing in theaters across North America. Epic Storyworlds has recreated settings from the film in Fracterra (which boasts more than a million visits on Roblox) where kids can explore, meet characters and collect virtual item. Lydia and the Mist Rider revolves around an 11-year-old girl who sets off on a flying ship to find her brother after he gets kidnapped by a magical villain.
