Netflix may be the streaming platform with the biggest overall reach, but Disney+ has the biggest share with families, according to new data from media research and measurement company Digital i.
The company gathered audience trend data and consumption patterns from 18,000 households across North America and Europe for its Streaming in Flux: 2025 in Review report. The report paints a picture of how the three major streamers—Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video—stack up, and what kids content is most popular on each of them.
The report has a lot of great data for the entertainment industry at large, but here are the key takeaways for the kids business.
1. Disney is top dog
When it comes to reaching kids, it’s Disney+ that’s over-indexing the most with family audiences. It has a 52% share of families, and that’s across both North America and Europe. It’s followed fairly closely by Netflix at 47%—-with Prime Video bringing up the rear at only 38%.
2. The biggest reach
The report outlined which overall shows and films have the greatest global reach, and a few kids/YA titles cracked the top 10 in 2025—all of them on Netflix: Wednesday was number one, Stranger Things came in second and KPop Demon Hunters was number five.
3. The titles that new users watch first
Family-friendly content is also a key driver to get consumers to subscribe to a service. Digital i found that Stranger Things, Wednesday, KPop Demon Hunters and Bluey are some of the titles that new viewers go to first when they join a service, highlighting the power of kids content as a magnet for subscribers.
4. The titles that stop users from leaving
Digital i also found that on Disney+, kids content is the main genre that keeps “churn-risk” subscribers from leaving. These are subscribers who aren’t that active on a platform and are likely to cancel their subscriptions. On Disney+, it’s titles like Dream Productions (pictured), Goosebumps, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and Coco that keep them on.
