Angel acquires US rights to family film Fing! (pictured)
The distributor will bring the Australian/UK co-pro movie to American theaters for a 2027 release. London-based King Bert Productions and Queensland’s Story Bridge Films produced the film about two librarians who go on a jungle quest to obtain a fantastical creature for their daughter, before a ruthless animal owner (Taika Waititi) can get it for himself. AGC studios co-financed the film and is handling worldwide sales (it sold the US rights to Angel). Angel previously distributed the kid-friendly, faith-based film David (US$80.3 million US box office, according to Box Office Mojo).
24 Bridges named master licensee for Tippi T-Rex‘s Chinese CP
The licensing company, which has brought Mittens & Pants and Mighty Express to China, has signed a deal to expand the preschool series about a curious T-rex into a range of products. The agreement covers food and beverage, publishing, plush, toys and LBE. Spain’s Ánima Kitchent and Indonesia’s Mocca Studio are behind the 2D-animated series (52 x five minutes). The series is already available in China on platforms such as Youku, Tencent and iQIYI. Distributor Goldbee brokered this deal.
The Teletubbies make a licensing splash ahead of 30th anniversary
WildBrain CPLG has brokered several deals for the Teletubbies that will see the colorful characters pop up around the world. Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is running a curated exhibition all about the IP from June to August; Pop Mart is releasing more blind-boxes; ELSKA in China is making figurines; and Monogram International in the US is launching keychains. Other partners include Handcraft (loungewear), Diadora (sportswear) and Aykroyds & TDP Licensing (apparel). The deals are coming ahead of the Teletubbies’ 30th anniversary in 2027.
Pink Parrot Media secures sales for CG-animated feature Tistou
The Montreal- and Madrid-based distributor has inked four deals for French/Belgian co-pro Tistou from Finalement and Walking The Dog. Front Row (Middle East), Filmarti (Türkiye), Pro Films (Bulgaria) and MCF (Western Balkans). The CG-animated film, which is scheduled for a 2028 delivery, is an adaptation of Maurice Druon’s kids novel (published in 27 languages). It revolves around a kid who has the power to grow plants and flowers, and uses the power to fight evil forces that want to destroy nature. The distributor has also sold Paratha Entertainment and Rafa Nadel Foundation’s comedy-adventure tennis film Winner to Front Row.
Sakar International named North American manufacturer for a Mattel brand
Sakar will handle development, manufacturing and marketing of the Power Wheels ride-on products in the NA market. The Power Wheels brand, which includes trikes and ATVs, has licenses including PAW Patrol and Harley-Davidson. The first products from Sakar are expected to arrive in fall 2026. The companies have already worked together for 14 years across multiple categories.
