Cartoon Network renews Ben 10 for season two

The rebooted series has been picked up for a second season, and CN has also commissioned new mobile and console games based on the brand.

Cartoon Network has picked up Ben 10 for a second season, while also ordering new mobile and console games for the series. Since its US premiere in April, the rebooted show has been viewed by 41 million viewers across platforms.

The network plans to head further into a multi-screen approach for season two by introducing two new games and additional immersive experiences, the details of which have yet to be announced.

Produced by Cartoon Network Studios and created and executive produced by Man of Action EntertainmentBen 10 follows Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen and their Grandpa Max on a summer vacation where they meet aliens, friends and foes thanks to the discovery of an ancient artifact called Omnitrix.

Since its EMEA premiere in October, the latest iteration of the series has reached more than 27 million viewers across the region.

The original series premiered in 2006 and went on to launch three additional animated spin-offs: Ben 10 Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse. The series also led to two animated movies (Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix and Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens), two live-action movies (Ben 10: Race Against Time and Ben 10: Alien Swarm) and a game (Ben 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex). On the licensing front, Ben 10 has generated more than US$4.5 billion in global retail sales. Global master toy partner will release new Ben 10 figures, play sets, role-play items in fall 2017.
