Manchester, England-based production house Three Arrows Media has added Toby Hughes (pictured), Dominic Parry and Rachel Thompson to its management team, as the two-year-old indie looks to drive its development slate.
Hughes, a Bristol-based entrepreneur, joins the board as non-executive director and has also taken a minority stake in the company. He has experience financing and scaling startups—like Leadbay and MoneyHub—that focus on technology and media.
Parry will serve as head of production on Treasure Champs, for which Three Arrows recently secured a two-season commission from CBeebies. The mixed-media preschool series, which examines the values found within different faiths and cultures, is set to debut in 2018.
Additionally, Parry will advise Three Arrows through his recently launched production consultancy, DogDuck Media. Parry previously served as COO at BBC Children’s, and was part of the executive team at the Natural History Unit in Bristol.
Thompson, meanwhile, joins as production manager for Treasure Champs. Prior to joining the Three Arrows team, Thompson served as head of production at Nine Lives Media. Her kids TV credits include I Am Leo, which was part of the CBBC My Life strand.
Launched by Zodiak Kids’ former head of development David Hallam and ex-CBeebies series producer John Hancock, Three Arrows was the first kids indie to set up shop in Manchester following the creation of MediaCityUK. In addition to Treasure Champs, the company’s credits include Asra for S4C (the second season of which is currently in production). The company also recently secured format rights for Toronto-based Distribution360’s reality game show Snapshots.
