Description: Finally seeing the light of day after a long development phase, the Beeb’s tween action-comedy (26 x 24 minutes) makes its red carpet debut at Licensing Show 2002. The live-action/CGI hybrid series has been sold in New Zealand (TVNZ) and Portugal (SIC), with many more deals in negotiation.

Description: Slated for U.K. broadcast on Cbeebies later this year, Novel Entertainment’s new preschool offering is set in a magical world that is home to an unusual group of creatures. The property heads to Licensing Show for the first time with a U.K. toy licensee (Fisher-Price) in tow.

The latest: Strawberry Shortcake will make her Licensing Show debut with master toy licensee Bandai America and master apparel licensee Children’s Apparel Network. Program to launch in spring 2003.

Egmont Imagination

Description: Based on the books by Irish writer Mary Murphy, Little Penguin (52 x five minutes) is a colorful TV series about a penguin who celebrates childhood through themes of optimism and resilience. A co-pro between Egmont, Discovery Kids and King Rollo Films, the series will be shopped at MIPCOM in October and is set to launch on Discovery Kids’ Ready, Set, Learn! block on TLC beginning February 24, 2003. Little Penguin will pull double duty as the block’s host.
