London-based distributor CAKE has sold TeamTO’s upcoming toon Take it Easy Mike to Turner’s global Boomerang channels, which will bow the non-dialog series in late 2018. In addition to Boomerang (which is readying for a launch in Japan), Turner Kids will air the series on Cartoon Network, Boing and POGO in select markets.

Turner EMEA says the acquisition is a part of its ongoing strategy to invest in European-produced content. In fact, Turner has already boosted its investments in European content by 30% this year.

Using photo-realistic visuals, 78 x seven-minute Take it Easy Mike follows a pug that wants to woo the neighbor’s dog, but his plans never seem to work out. The series is currently in pre-production and scheduled to premiere on France Télévisions next year. CAKE handles worldwide distribution, excluding France, Germany and China.
