Mondo TV Iberoamerica has inked a multi-territory publishing agreement with Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial for its property Heidi Bienvenida.

The two-year licensing agreement will see the Penguin Random House International imprint launch more than 10 titles inspired by Mondo TV Iberoamerica’s first live-action series, entitled Heidi, Bienvenida a Casa.

The books will be published in Spanish for the Latin American market and will be available in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The first titles will launch in March.

Heidi, Bienvenida a Casa reinterprets the classic children’s novel Heidi. Written by Marcela Citterio and co-produced with Alianzaz Producciones, the comedy-drama currently airs on Nickelodeon across Latin America and also launched on TV Azteca’s A+ channel in Mexico. The series recently launched in Bolivia, Costa Rica, Russia and Israel, and will bow in additional territories including Peru and El Salvador beginning in 2018. The Heidi Bienvenida property will soon expand with Heidi Bienvenida al Show, and a third series–to follow by the end of 2018–has been announced.

The agreement with Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial comes as Mondo TV Iberoamerica continues to establish licensing partnerships for Heidi Bienvenida. Additional licensees include Panini, which inked a global agreement to produce books, stickers and magazines inspired by the brand.
