Lego stacks global merch rights to CinéGroupe/Lynch series

Denmark-based toyco The Lego Company has picked up full global merchandising rights to upcoming TV series Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension. Slated to premiere in the U.S. on Fox Kids’ Saturday morning sked in February 2002, the new show from Canada’s CinéGroupe and L.A.-based The Tom Lynch Company is a live-action/CGI combo that follows the adventures of everyteen Nicholas–born to an Earthling father and a Galidor mother–as he embarks on a quest to unite his two worlds. As merchandising rights owner, Lego holds master toy and software licenses and is currently negotiating with licensing agents. The first phase of product, which is tentatively slated to start rolling out in North America next summer, will include categories like action figures, books and video games.

EXIM sets up a U.S. shop in Miami

In a strategic alliance with Florida-based Consejero Holdings, EXIM Licensing Group–headquartered in Argentina with offices throughout Latin America–has opened a U.S. office in Miami, Florida to concentrate on the regional promotional needs of its U.S. clients. Arturo Vinueza, former CEO at Consejero, has taken on the role of CEO, while Judith Hofman, formerly the licensing director at EXIM Argentina, has been named VP of business development.
