Marvel Comics’ martial arts babe Elektra Natchios will soon make the leap from crime-fighting to cat-walking. Well, sort of. Marvel has employed the services of renowned modeling agency Karin Models to develop the pneumatic comic book heroine into a virtual model for hire.
Karin will assemble a portfolio of Elektra pics–some from her comic book, others specially created by Marvel’s artists–which it plans to pitch to potential advertisers. Marvel VP of licensing Ellen Sevin is betting that Elektra’s strong cross-gender appeal will make her an attractive model for jewelry, cosmetics and apparel.
It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Elektra. In addition to a burgeoning modeling career and the launch of her own comic book and licensing and merchandising program, she is also set to appear in New Regency’s live-action film adaptation of Daredevil, which is currently in development. What will be next, co-hosting stints on Regis?
