Toy/comic book/movie company Todd McFarlane Productions has signed on a bevy of new rock musicians to replicate as figures. Topping the charts as the most bizarre addition to TMP’s playlist is Grateful Dead alum Jerry Garcia. The six-inch figure (US$15) of the now-deceased `60s icon will come with his trademark T-shirt, guitar, a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia Ice Cream, and a soundchip that will play 15 seconds of an as-yet-undetermined Dead tune. Also joining Garcia in McFarlane’s rock star figuredom will be scuzzy, white-trash rapper Kid Rock (US$10), who comes with his own Peep Show diorama (watch your back Barbie). Both dolls hit specialty toy, music and hobby stores this July.
