Music and communication tech always rate high on the kid radar, and the latest cell phone and MP3 Jukebox iterations are pegged by Max Valiquette, president of Toronto-based Youthography, to become must-have items for the youth demo.

Cell phones:

WAP-enabled phones from companies like U.K.-based Orange feature animated caller IDs and instant messaging, making standard cell phone apps that much more kid-appealing.

MP3 Jukeboxes:

Kids won’t be scourging their hard drives for space to burn new CDs with six gigabytes (over 100 hours, 150 albums, and thousands of personal play lists) of tunes at their fingertips. MP3 players like Creative Lab’s Nomad (featured left) and Archos’ Jukebox 6000 will be the next big purchase for a music-loving kid.
