The 20-year toy industry vet joins Bandai from Playmates Toys, where he served as senior VP of sales. Colleen Sherfey, formerly VP of sales and marketing at Countrywide Home Loans, has been named director of marketing.
BRB Internacional (Madrid, Spain, 34-91-358-6080): Justin Hatfield, formerly head of film and animation at 3DD Entertainment (U.K.), has joined as director of international sales audiovisual. Maria Bonaria Fois, formerly at PPM, has joined as director of international sales.
Cartoon Network Online (Atlanta, Georgia, 404-885-2263): Sam Register has been promoted from VP and creative director to senior VP and creative director.
Cartoon Network UK/Boomerang (London, England, 44-207-478-1000): Joanne Barlow has joined as marketing director from Shell, where she served as European promotions manager.
Cinar (Montreal, Canada, 514-843-7070): Sonya Thériault has been appointed producer of live-action production. Thériault was previously director of youth and animation at TVA International, the prodco behind Popular Mechanics for Kids.
Ciné-Groupe (West Hollywood, California, 310-276-7190): Former president of Saban Enterprises International Michel Welter has been named president of Ciné-Groupe International, overseeing all aspects of international sales, including distribution, licensing and merchandising. He will be based in the company’s L.A. office.
Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group (Culver City, California, 310-244-4000): Dana Precious has been upped from senior to executive VP of creative advertising. Precious is currently involved in campaigns for upcoming Columbia films including Spider-Man: The Movie and Stuart Little 2.
Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (London, England, 44-208-563-6400): Diana Hartz and Gerold Kolenbrander have been promoted as joint managing directors of CPLG’s German subsidiary Copyright Promotions Germany. Hartz previously served as director of sales and Kolenbrander as director of finance. Alex Romer has been named managing director of CPLG’s Korean joint-venture company, Copyright Promotions Partners. Romer joins the company from sponsorship agency Sponsorship Science.
Fox Family Worldwide (Los Angeles, California, 310-235-5100): Eric Fischer has joined as VP of advertising sales. Fischer comes to Fox Family from the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he served as director of advertising sales.
Frankfurt Balkind West (Los Angeles, California, 323-965-4800): Lester Chin, formerly of Grey Entertainment, has joined the ad firm as senior VP of new business development and client services. Creating domestic and international campaigns for feature film properties, the firm’s recent credits include Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Blair Witch 2.
Global Icons (Los Angeles, California, 310-253-5100): Ken Abrams, formerly VP of consumer products at Marvel Entertainment, has been named president of the Global Icons kids division. The company currently represents kid brands and properties Genius Products (Baby Genius), Stan Lee Media and The Worst Witch.
Gullane Entertainment (New York, New York, 212-463-9623): As part of an ongoing expansion, the company has established a base in Amsterdam, appointing Giannina Antola VP and group head of distribution. Antola joins Gullane from Endemol Entertainment, where she served as VP of international sales.
Igel Media (Hamburg, Germany, 49-40-3068-9625) Edward Galton has joined the management board as COO, moving from his role as managing director of international sales. In his new position, Galton will continue to expand the company’s national and international sales network, in addition to working on new media initiatives.

Sesame Workshop (New York, New York, 212-595-3456): Nancy Steingard has been named senior VP of creative development, and will be based in the L.A. office. Most recently, Steingard served as executive VP of Universal Family Entertainment. Julian Scott, formerly group VP of development has been appointed group VP of European operations and will be based in the London office.
Sony Pictures Consumer Products (Culver City, California, 310-244-7788): Lisa Green, formerly of accessories manufacturer MZ Berger, has joined as senior manager of domestic sales. Ashley Duffy Maidy has been named director of domestic sales. Maidy joins SPCP from a sales post at Saban Consumer Products.
Sunbow Entertainment (New York, New York, 212-886-4242): Ken Olshansky has been appointed senior VP of creative affairs at the U.S. subsidiary of Munich-based TV-Loonland. Olshansky previously served as VP of development and production at Sony Wonder New York.
The L.A. Office (Los Angeles, California, 310-275-2088): Katie Chin, formerly senior VP of worldwide promotions at Fox Consumer Products, has joined the marketing/promotions firm as senior VP of entertainment partnerships. In her new post, Chin will oversee the firm’s roster of entertainment clients, including New Line Home Video, MGM Pictures and the Jim Henson Company.
TV-Loonland (Munich, Germany, 49-89-271-9006): To accommodate an expanding rights portfolio, the company beefs up its distribution division with several sales appointments. Marzenna Czubowicz has joined as head of sales, responsible for distribution in the U.K., Germany, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Israel and South Africa. Based in the London office, she will also manage the London, Paris and New York sales offices. Czubowicz was previously director of sales at Alliance Atlantis Television International. With a career portfolio including a sales stint at the Jim Henson Company, Helen Blayney has been appointed director of sales, responsible for Australia, New Zealand, Benelux, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. Sandrine Pechels de Saint Sardos has joined as senior director of sales and business development for North America and Asia, and will be based in the company’s New York office. Pechels de Saint Sardos comes to TV-Loonland from a sales manager post at Sony Wonder/Sunbow Entertainment.
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment International (Los Angeles, California, 310-369-3900): Elizabeth West has been upped from director to VP of publicity and promotions. Previously based in Europe, West will join the L.A. office. Bettina Sherick and Cindi Peltier have joined the group as executive director of on-line marketing and director of promotions, respectively. Sherick comes to TCFHE from Warner Bros. Studio Store, where she served as director of e-commerce marketing. Peltier previously served as executive director of national promotions at Destination Films.
Unbound Studios (New York, New York, 212-414-9866): Jill Proctor Ramirez has been appointed VP of business development. Ramirez previously held development positions at Morgan Hill Films/Hearst Entertainment and Dick Clark Film Group.
Universal Studios Consumer Products Group (Universal City, California, 818-777-5391): Bill Rahn, GM of USCPG in Japan, has assumed additional responsibilities to market USCPG’s properties in Asia-Pacific, including Australia and China. He will continue to be responsible for all Japanese licensing activity. And Wyman Roberts has been named executive VP and CMO for Universal Studios Recreation Group. Roberts will oversee all worldwide marketing strategies, sales activities, consumer positioning and brand development for the studio’s recreation properties.
