Warner Bros. unleashes new Scooby video and releases more Powerpuff Girls eps

On March 6, Warner Bros. will release Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (US$14.95), a new-to-video feature that finds Scoob and Shaggy investigating yet another supernatural occurrence-this time at a local private girls academy. As expected, Warner has rustled up a promotional feast for the latest installment in its top-dog franchise, which to date has yielded sales of over 11 million videos. Promos include: a free video mail-in offer to consumers who purchase Ghoul School and two other select Warner Spotlight titles, plus chances to win trips to Warner Bros. movie premieres in Hollywood and New York as part of WHV’s What’s in Your Spotlight? Sweepstakes. WHV will support Ghoul School-which prebooks February 6-with a national print and TV campaign.

Two new videos containing eps of Cartoon Network’s troika of fingerless crime-fighting babes will fly into stores on April 3. Boogie Frights and Twisted Sister (both US$14.95) feature four previously aired episodes each, plus one never-before-seen episode. WHV will also put out a special-edition Powerpuff DVD, The Mane Event (US$19.98), containing two hours worth of the Girls, including two new eps, interactive games and a Powerpuff Girls video by Japanese group Shonen Knife. Promo partner Dairy Queen will offer US$1 video coupons through its DQ Kids meals, as well as in-store signage and video giveaways throughout 6,000 of its locations. All three titles prebook March 6 and will be supported through national print, TV and on-line ads.
