George Lucas signs on to anime co-pro

Lucasfilm and Japan-based anime prodco Anime World Osaka have hooked up to co-produce an animated flick called The Tiny Fairy Mirun. Anime World is kicking in the US$18.5-million budget, as well as inking the master storyboards, which will then be sent to Lucasfilm for fill-in work. The film, which George Lucas will executive produce, tells the story of a fairy who uses the voice of a crow in order to communicate with lifeforms on earth.
