Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment will bring back its CGI series ReBoot for two MOWs. The flicks are set to air on YTV in the spring and fall of 2001.
ReBoot, the pioneering half-hour computer animated TV series that debuted in 1994, ran 39 episodes over three seasons and was broadcast in 70 countries. Because of fan interest and continued healthy ratings at YTV and the U.S. Cartoon Network, Mainframe has decided to refresh the franchise about young heroes who battle evil in their computer world. The first TV movie, Daemon Rising, picks up the third season story arc in which action adventure spreads into the Web and Mainframe fends off a super-virus. The second movie is yet to be titled.
The MOWs will make use of previously created season three characters and images stored in a digital database.
