PBS will broadcast 40 half hours of an animated Clifford the Big Red Dog series starting this fall. Scholastic Productions, the sole producer, is currently at work on the series starring the big-hearted red mutt. It’s aimed at the three to seven set and although stories are based on the book series created in 1959 by author Norman Bridwell, the show’s story lines are all new and will center around racially diverse characters. Clifford will be voiced by John Ritter, while Kel Mitchell of Nick’s Kenan & Kel will voice Clifford’s pal T-Bone.
