Activision plans to go where no other interactive publishing company has gone before. The Santa Monica-based software producer has inked a 10-year deal with Viacom Consumer Products, giving it the worldwide rights to produce multiple platform titles for all of the Star Trek properties. The agreement marks the first time Viacom Consumer Products has granted the worldwide rights to one software publisher. Under the terms of the deal, Activision also has the exclusive rights to produce software based on any future Star Trek TV series or films. Activision will release its first title based on Paramount’s new feature film, Star Trek: The Insurrection, this holiday season.
