Ahmed, Prince of the Alhambra, a full-length animated feature by Madrid’s Lotura Films, will see worldwide distribution in the coming year. The US$1 million dollar movie, based on a story by 19th century author Washington Irving, is about a young prince who falls in love with a woman whose poems he receives by messenger pigeon. Columbia TriStar is handling theatrical distribution in Spain, and rights have been sold to RCV for the Benelux region. In addition to screenings in Germany, France and Italy, Lotura is working on negotiations regarding North American distribution.
