Get ready for trainspotting in tot couture circles. The Britt Allcroft Company recently awarded The Haddad Apparel Group exclusive rights to produce and distribute a special line of activewear, outerwear, swimwear, accessories and footwear in Canada and the U.S. The gear features Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends characters, which appear in the show Shining Time Station (now airing weekday mornings on Fox Family Channel). The Haddad Group will also create T-shirts and baseball caps. Some of the Thomas apparel, which ranges in price from US$9.99 to US$59.99, will be available at mass and specialty retailers in time for the 1998 holiday season, with the rest scheduled to hit stores by September 1999.
