Reading is Fundamantal (RIF), America’s leading nonprofit children’s literacy organization, and Willy Wonka will be travelling across the U.S. throughout the summer and fall in a wacky bookmobile.

The project, set to hit Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Atlanta and Dallas, is designed to remind children of the joys of reading. At each stop, Willy Wonka, the whimsical character from the popular children’s book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, will be giving away books and candy, as well as hosting a story time under the WONKAmobile story canopy.

The 33-foot-long WONKAmobile was built by Hollywood car designer, George Barris, creator of the Knight Rider Firebird, the Batmobile, Dick Tracey’s Speedster and The Flintstones’ Flintmobile.
