Stephen Pomerantz, formerly an executive at Walt Disney Television, will head the new division. In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing a wide variety of marketing activities, including facilitating communication between the department’s respective groups and with other departments within the studio.

DreamWorks Consumer Products (Universal City, California, 818-733-7000): Rick Rekedal will head DreamWorks Toys. Rekedal will be responsible for developing comprehensive toy programs for DreamWorks’ feature film animation, television and interactive product and for developing original toy concepts for the studio’s consumer products division. He will also manage the studio’s strategic alliance with Hasbro.
Fisher-Price (East Aurora, New York, 716-687-3000): Gerald V. Cleary to executive VP of sales for Fisher-Price and Tyco Preschool. Cleary will be headquartered in East Aurora, where Fisher-Price is based, but will maintain an office in New York to continue overseeing the Tyco Preschool business.
Harvey Entertainment (Los Angeles, California, 310-789-1990): Tony Scotti, former CEO at All American Communications, and Mike Hope, former CFO at MGM, will replace Harvey’s former CEO Jeffrey Montgomery and CFO Greg Yulish for an interim six-month period. The company is creating a home video label, Harvey Home Video. The new division will be headed by senior VP Don Gold. Gold will focus on forging marketing and distribution alliances for Harvey’s video titles.
Hasbro (Pawtucket, Rhode Island, 401-431-8697): George Volanakis joins as president of European sales and marketing. Volanakis will lead Hasbro’s European sales and marketing operations for all of its toy and game brands, including Playskool, Play-Doh, Action Man, Star Wars and Monopoly. He will be based in the U.K.
The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company (New York, New York, 212-989-3660): David T. Levine to manager of business and legal affairs. Levine will supervise the execution of all license agreements, oversee intellectual properties, direct new acquisitions and manage general business matters.
JAKKS Pacific (Malibu, California, 310-456-7799): Jamie Wood, previously with Mattel, joins as VP of the company’s Road Champs/Remco division. She will oversee marketing and sales of the company’s Road Champs and Remco car, truck, plane and vehicle lines. Elaine Fugedy, also from Mattel, joins as VP of marketing, responsible for developing and launching advertising, merchandising and promotional programs for JAKKS World Wrestling Federation action figure and Child Guidance preschool toy lines, as well the Road Champs and Remco brands. Maureen Kassel, formerly VP, marketing and sales, is promoted to senior VP, marketing and sales.

Abrams will focus on domestic licensing for Marvel’s film and TV properties, such as Silver Surfer and The X-Men. Alex Holtz joins as VP, sales and marketing. Territo is responsible for distribution center manufacturing of all platform products and acts as the point person for the tracking of product development. Midway Home Entertainment designs, markets and distributes video games under the Midway trademark for home game platforms and personal computers.
Mountain Lake PBS, WCFE-TV/57 (Plattsburgh, New York, 518-563-9770): Ysabel Trujillo to director of development. Trujillo was most recently director of corporate communications at Cinar Films. She will focus on cultivating corporate support for the station.

Mark Lutz to sales coordinator, with responsibility for sales of product from the new division, Patch Interactive. Frank Beres joins as promotions manager. His responsibilities include creating and implementing promotions for specific retailers and products on both a nationwide and regional level. Beres will also develop partnerships and cross-promotional opportunities. Lisa Compty to media coordinator. Compty’s responsibilities include gaining national publicity for Patch Products and its line of family products through radio, print and television media placement. Patch Products manufactures games, puzzles and toys.

Fuller will oversee the strategic development of marketing activities with a special emphasis on consumer products. He will be responsible for national consumer promotions, strategic alliances, advertising, broadcast relations, on-line marketing, special events and public relations of core franchise properties. Fuller will also handle all marketing campaigns on behalf of consumer products, television and feature films.

Scholastic Inc. (Hong Kong, 82-2722-6161): The company is opening an office in Hong Kong, to be headed by Linda Warfel as regional director. The subsidiary will promote Scholastic’s product line in the Asia-Pacific markets.
Southern Star (North Sydney, Australia, 61-2-9202-8555): Catherine Nebauer to children’s programming manager for Southern Star Sales. Nebauer was previously sales executive for Asia and the Middle East. Her new role will include seeking opportunities for presales and co-production monies for children’s production.
