Playmates has released Nano Fighters, the more action-oriented cousin to the Nano Virtual Pet, at FAO Schwarz in New York City. The object of the new toy is to train the Nano Fighter until it reaches 18 in Nano years and is ready to fight other Nano Fighters to the death. A Nano Fighter’s ability to win in combat depends on the care and training it has received from its owner-the better the training, the more durable the Nano Fighter will be. The highlight of playing with the toys comes during the deciding moment of battle. At that time, the victorious Nano Fighter walks from its LCD screen to its opponent’s and starts mocking it. Nano Fighters retail for between US$15 and US$20.
