– Sesame Street paves Latin America
Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia has acquired exclusive cable and satellite rights throughout Latin America for 130 episodes of Plaza Sesamo, the Spanish-language version of Sesame Street. The program will air on the Discovery Kids channel. Plaza Sesamo includes short film and video segments highlighting the cultural, social and historical roots of Latin America. The series will incorporate both traditional and modern forms of cel, clay and computer animation techniques.
– ProSieben restructures
Munich-based ProSieben is restructuring its program purchasing division. The newly created International Fiction division is taking over the responsibility of acquiring television series and animation, as well as international TV, feature films, documentaries and animation projects involving co-productions. Acquisition of international program rights will be handled by both the Feature Film and International Fiction divisions.
