*New kids film festival
The Toronto International Film Festival Group has announced plans for a new film festival for kids called Sprockets-Toronto International Film Festival for Children. Organizers anticipate a six-day event in mid- to late-April 1998. Sprockets will feature an international selection of animated and live-action films, as well as a school program and workshops for kids.
*France/U.K. co-production deal
PARIS: French company Folimage has entered into a co-production deal with the U.K.’s Siriol Productions and EVA Entertainment for the 26 x 13-minute preschool series Hilltop Hos-pital. The project, adapted from a British book series, has a budget of £2.2 million (US$3.6 million) and is scheduled for delivery in the fall of 1999.
