The 35th Annual NATPE Conference & Exhibition takes place January 19 to 22, 1998, in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Roseanne, star of ABC’s award-winning series and soon-to-be talk show host, will deliver the conference’s opening address at Tuesday’s General Session.

Topics to be addressed include regulatory issues affecting the telecommunications industry and new opportunities in the international marketplace. The show will also offer a ‘Coffee With. . .’ session with renowned TV director Jim Burrows and seminars, including ‘Gatekeepers to the Kids’ Empire.’

Attendees last year numbered 16,700. Of these, 3,265 were from outside of the U.S. The show also hosted 670 exhibiting companies, with 242 of these from outside of the U.S.

The 1997 exhibition occupied 400,000 square feet of space.
