*Cartoon launches in Japan
Cartoon Network Japan, a 24-hour animation network, has launched in Japan on a direct-to-home (DTH) platform. The channel will also be distributed to Japanese cable television households beginning in November.

Due to an editing error in a story on promotional tie-ins that ran in our September 1997 issue (‘Tuning in to tie-ins,’ page 26), Bob Bibb and Lew Goldstein were credited with ‘masterminding’ the launch of Fox Kids Network. Bibb and Goldstein were responsible for the launch of Fox Broadcasting’s prime-time lineup. It was, in fact, Margaret Loesch and her team that were behind the launch of the Fox Kids Network.
