The Spanish animation studio D’Ocon Films Productions recently expanded to include a Los Angeles office. Managing director Roberto Mitrani, who moved on from the post of director of business affairs to set up the L.A. base, cites the company’s ongoing search for new collaborative opportunities, both creative and financial, and the promotion of existing D’Ocon projects as reasons for the expansion. Past co-productions for the company, which also has a studio in France, include Problem Child (13 x 22 minutes) with Universal Cartoons, and Basket Fever (26 x half-hour) with ACB, Extensión BBDO and TVE 1 and distributed by Hit Entertainment.
