Mediatoon Distribution has secured more than 25 new broadcast deals for its animated preschool series The Fox Badger Family.
Commissioned by France Télévisions’ France 5, the show is also going to be translated into an additional 20 languages and development has begun on a second season. Produced by Ellipsanime and Darguad Media, the 52 x 12-minute show was ranked in the top 20 in France and has reached 63.7% of KiKa’s audience of preschoolers three to five in Germany, according to Mediatoon.
The free TV channels that have snagged the show include TV Brazil, CCTV-14 (China), Télé-Quebec (Canada), RAI Yoyo (Italy), SVT (Sweden), RTBF/Ouf Tivi (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland), TVP-ABC (Poland), NRK Super (Norway), YLE (Finland) and RSI (Switzerland). The last three picked up both the free TV and VOD rights.
In Central and Eastern Europe RTV Slovenja, Ceska TV (Czech Republic) and RTV Slovenska (Slovakia), Prava I Prevodi (Serbia), LTV (Latvia) and Mauritius Broadcasting (Mauritius) have all picked up the broadcast rights.
On the pay TV side, HOP! (Israel), D Smart (Turkey), Studio 100 Junior (Germany) and CJ Tooniverse/English Gem (South Korea) grabbed the pay TV and VOD rights. HITN/Edye (LatAm and US), Mango TV (China) and Orange’s platforms OCS, Infinikids and TFou Max (France) all picked up SVOD rights to the show in their respective territories.
Finally, MTVA (Hungary) and Canal+ (Myanmar) have acquired all TV rights.
The Fox Badger family is based on a comic book of the same name published by Dargaud, and written by Brigitte Luciani and illustrated by Eve Tharlet. It follows Dad Edmund, and his two twin boys Woodsy and Scoutbadger and their baby sister Berry merging families with fox Margaret and her daughter.
