WildBrain Television has hired Katie Wilson, former Corus Entertainment director of programming, kids, for the newly created post of VP of channels and curation.

Based in Toronto, Wilson will take responsibility for curating content and overseeing editorial direction across WildBrian Television’s Family Channel, Family CHRGD, Family Jr., Télémagino and VOD extensions. Wilson will also spearhead WildBrain Television’s content acquisition and original production program. She reports to recently appointed EVP of content partnerships Deirdre Brennan.

Working closely with the company’s global content, distribution and brand teams, Wilson will provide critical strategic insights for WildBrain’s “core business of creating engaging entertainment for kids and families worldwide,” according to a press release.

Wilson joins WildBrain Television after six years as a senior executive with Corus Entertainment. In her role as director of programming, kids, she was responsible for commissioning original content and overseeing programming strategy across Corus’ YTV, Treehouse and Teletoon. She also oversaw scheduling across partnership channels such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Disney Channel in Canada.

Prior to taking on the post, Wilson served as manager of programming for Teletoon, where she was integral in launching Cartoon Network Canada, and as programming and scheduling coordinator for ZoomerMedia.
