Rhode Island-based toyco Hasbro has elevated Jess Richardson to VP of global licensed consumer products for toys and games.

In the newly created role, Richardson will head up development and strategy in the toys, sporting goods and games categories for all regions to bolster Hasbro’s global brand portfolio. He will also lead a newly formed global team.

Based in LA, Richardson will start in his new position in late August. He previously worked as senior director of category licensing in North America for Hasbro’s hardlines categories. The toyco is currently looking for a successor to fill this role.

Prior to Hasbro, Richardson served as head of licensing at Netflix, and also did a stint as VP of the WWE’s North American licensing business.

His promotion comes on the heels of Hasbro’s 54% increase in Q2 net revenue. The quarter saw the company’s CP business grow by 33% to US$689.2 million, driven by higher sales for the Nerf, Transformers and Play-Doh brands. Hasbro also recently promoted Kim Boyd to head of global brands and consumer innovation.
