India-based animation, gaming and live-action entertainment group DQ Entertainment has launched a talent search for children in creative writing and cinematography.
The DQ Powerkidz story and script writing competition targets roughly 1,000 schools across India and exposes students ages 10 through 15 to the language of audio visuals, with the winning entry turned into a short film produced by DQ Entertainment.
The entries, submitted online at www.dqentertainment.com, will be judged by a jury of media and entertainment industry personalities, with the five best story writers invited to attend a two-day interactive children’s audio-visual workshop early next year that will include visual arts, animation, theater and creative sessions.
The winning entry will be sent for onward submission to the Ciak Junior Film festival, an international contest held in Treviso, Italy. The winner of the DQ Power Kidz talent search contest will also be sponsored to represent the film in Treviso, where he or she will face off against children from various countries such as Belgium, Chile, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, China, Portugal, Senegal, Slovakia, Spain, India, Switzerland, Bulgaria and South Africa.
